16 km north west of Jaisalmer
Lourva contains a number if Jain Temples that are the only
remains of a once flourishing ancient capital of Jaisalmer
rulers. Rising golden coloured out of the desert, they are
beautifully carved with Jaali outside. A masterpiece of
architectural grandeur is 'Toran' or the ornate arch at
the main entrance with its exquisite carvings. Kalptaru or
the devine trees is another attraction. The temple has an
image of the 23rd Trithankar Parshwanath. |
