NORWAY The best known tourist attractions in Norway include the North Cape, which is the northernmost point of the European continent, the western fjords, Sami culture in Finnmark, the wild and beautiful coastline of northern Norway and the Gothic-inspired medieval Nidaros cathedral in Trondheim, the oldest church in Scandinavia. In the same county are the unique old copper mines at Røros and to the west, on the coast, lies the town of Ålesund with its special Jugend style architecture. The architectural heritage of the Hanseatic period in Bergen has given the town a place on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
