Originally a hunting
lodge frequented by the royalty of Mewar, this Royal Retreat, is
set amidst the serene, wooded Aravalis. Though only 15 minutes
from the City Palace, this getaway is so peaceful that leaving
the clamor of city life behind becomes easiest thing to do. For
wildlife and adventure buffs, there is a licensed Deer Park and
also a provision for horseback excursions into the sanctuary and
the Aravali hills where one can spot deer, antelope, wild boar,
monkey and the nilgai. The hotel also has a private airstrip, a
cricket ground where matches are organized regularly.
Known for its traditional Mewari cuisine, the hotel's
restaurants are very popular with the locals. The open-air
restaurant, Risala, overlooking the distant Sajjangarh Fort has
a campfire and bar-be-que on winter evenings. |
