Bundi

Here the Rajput legacy is well preserved in the shape of the massive Taragarh Fort, which broods over the town in the narrow valley below, and the huge palace which stands beneath it. In this palace are found the famous Bundi murals - similar to those inthe Rao Madho Singh Museum in Kota. Bundi is well known for its school of paint-ing - especially its hunting and palace scenes, which are regarded as some of the finest in the country. The interesting places are the Bundi Palace, Phool Sagar Palace, Shikar Burj, Sukh Mahal, Sar Bagh and the cenotaphs.

Jhalawar

Situated 87 km south of Kota, at the centre of an opium-producing region, Jhalawar was the capital of a small princely state created in 1838. In the centre of town is the Jhalawar Fort, built by Maharaja Madan Singh in 1838.Today it houses the government offices and is run down. There's also the small Government Museum which has a collection of 8thcentury sculptures, gold coins, weapons and old paintings. The Darrah Wild life Sanctuary provides shelter.

Kota

The interesting places are the museum which is located in the fort and the Jag Mandir, the Brijraj Bhawan Palace and the Umain Bhawan Palace, Badoli Temples, Ramgarh Bhand deora temple, Sitabari .Kota is well known for its cotton sares called ”Kota-doria”

Baran

Baran city was under Solanki Rajputs in the 14th -15th century There are several thoughts for it’s name, like some says since it was formed by twelve villages so it is called 'Baran', others says since the city was built by the 12 nearby villagers so it is named as 'Baran'. There are also saying that since the soils of the area is mostly 'Barani' so it is called 'Baran'. It is also worth noting that 'Baran' in urdu means rain and no wonder that Baran has the second highest rainfall in the state after Banswara district
